Deleting Your Account
How to delete your ValidMeet account and everything in it, what gets erased, and what does not.
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Delete from the app
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.
- Open ValidMeet and go to Settings.
- Scroll to Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
Delete without the app
If you cannot get into the app, email privacy@validmeet.com from the email address on your account, or from any address if you include the phone number you signed up with, and ask us to delete it.
We will verify that the account is yours, confirm before we act, and complete the deletion within 30 days. In practice it is usually the same day.
This page is always available at https://validmeet.com/delete-account, without logging in.
What gets deleted
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery period and no way to undo it.
- Your profile, photos, bio, interests, and preferences.
- Your face template and any verification imagery.
- Every message you have sent, and your conversations.
- Your matches, meetup history, scheduled meetups, and streaks.
- Beacons you created and your attendance at other people's beacons.
- Groups you own, along with their events and membership, and your membership in other groups.
- All location data: last known position, search history, and any active safety shares.
- Your push notification tokens and notification preferences.
- Any city-expansion waitlist entry you submitted from outside the launch area.
- Your sign-in credentials and your authentication record.
- Reports you filed and reports filed about you, and your blocks.
What we keep, and why
Two narrow exceptions, both of which exist to protect other people or because the law requires it.
- Ban records. If we removed your account for a serious violation such as harassment, fraud, or sexual misconduct, we keep a minimal record of the ban and your face template. This is the only way to stop banned members from returning under a new name, and it protects the people they harmed.
- Financial records. Transaction records are held by Apple, Google, and our payment processor for as long as tax and financial law requires, generally seven years. We cannot delete records held by them, and neither can they on request.
Encrypted backups may contain your data for up to 30 days after deletion. Those backups are not accessible for any operational purpose and roll off automatically.
Content you sent to other people, such as a message in a conversation, is deleted along with the conversation. Anything another person saved outside the app, such as a screenshot, is beyond our reach.
Other options
If you want a copy of your data before you go, export it from Settings first, or ask us at privacy@validmeet.com. Once the account is deleted we cannot produce it.
If you only want a break, you can turn off notifications and stop appearing on the map without deleting anything. If you want us to stop processing something specific rather than everything, write to privacy@validmeet.com and we will work it out.
