Community Guidelines
What is and is not allowed on ValidMeet, and what happens when someone crosses the line.
Last updated: August 10, 2026
The short version
ValidMeet only works if people actually show up and treat each other well. These guidelines apply everywhere in the app: your profile, your messages, beacons, groups, events, and the meetups themselves.
They also apply to how you behave once you have met someone through us. Harm that happens at a meetup is harm that happened on ValidMeet.
Be who you say you are
- Use recent photos of yourself. No photos of other people, celebrities, or images you found online.
- Do not impersonate anyone, invent a job or a life, or lie about your age.
- One account per person. If we ban you, do not come back under a new name.
- Do not create an account on behalf of someone else.
Everyone completes a face check when they sign up, and every photo you add is matched against it. That is the whole point: you should be able to trust that the person in the photo is the person who shows up.
Treat people decently
- No harassment, threats, intimidation, or stalking, on or off the app.
- No hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- No unsolicited sexual messages or images. Ask first, and accept no.
- No pressuring anyone into meeting, drinking, going somewhere private, or anything else.
- Do not share anyone else's private information, photos, or messages.
- Do not photograph or record people at a meetup without asking.
Keep it appropriate
- No nudity or sexually explicit content in profiles, group covers, or event images.
- Nothing involving minors, ever. Any content that sexualizes a minor is reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement.
- No graphic violence, gore, or content glorifying self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- No content promoting terrorism, violent extremism, or mass violence.
- No weapons or illegal drugs in photos.
No scams, no selling
Romance scams are the most common serious harm on apps like this one, and they follow a pattern. Someone builds rapport fast, avoids meeting or video calling, then eventually needs money for an emergency, a customs fee, or an investment that cannot lose.
- Never send money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency to someone you met here. No exception is a real exception.
- Do not solicit money, donations, or investments from other members.
- No advertising, promotion, recruiting, or driving people to other platforms to sell something.
- No phishing, malware, or links to anything harmful.
- No prostitution, escort services, or human trafficking of any kind.
If someone asks you for money, report them. We ban accounts for this on the first offence, and we notify anyone else who was talking to them.
Show up
This is what makes ValidMeet different, so we take it seriously. Agreeing to meet and then not appearing wastes someone's evening and their trust.
Repeatedly failing to show up lowers your trust level, restricts what you can do in the app, and can eventually cost you your account. Life happens, so cancel early and honestly instead of vanishing.
Groups and events
If you create a group or host an event, you are responsible for what happens in it.
- Keep group names, descriptions, and cover images appropriate for everyone.
- Host events at genuine public venues. Do not send people to a private residence.
- Do not use groups to organise anything that breaks these guidelines.
- Remove members who make others feel unsafe, and report them to us.
How to report and block
Every profile, conversation, group, and event has a report option, and you can block anyone at any time without reporting them. Blocking is immediate and silent: they are not told, and they lose the ability to see or contact you.
We review every report. Objectionable content and the accounts responsible for it are dealt with within 24 hours.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 first. Then tell us at safety@validmeet.com.
What happens when rules are broken
What we do depends on how serious it is and whether it has happened before. We do not use a rigid formula, but the escalation is roughly:
- Content removed. For minor or first-time issues, such as an inappropriate photo.
- Warning. A notice explaining what was wrong and what happens next time.
- Feature restriction. Losing access to messaging, beacons, or events for a period.
- Suspension. Temporary loss of the account while we investigate.
- Permanent ban. For harassment, scams, violence, sexual misconduct, content involving minors, or repeat violations. Face verification prevents banned accounts from returning.
Some things skip every step and result in an immediate permanent ban: threats of violence, sexual content involving minors, and sexual assault. We refer these to law enforcement.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal within six months. Write to support@validmeet.com with the phone number or email on your account and what you think we misread. A person will look at it again.
Filing false or malicious reports about other people is itself a violation, and we act on it.
